Earth Day in the Parks Get your students involved with natural resources stewardship through the Earth Day in the Parks program from the IDNR! Participating state parks will offer students the opportunity to get their hands dirty and experience nature as they perform duties such as removing invasive exotic plants, planting native trees and wildflowers and building and installing bird nesting boxes. FLP will bring the Field-to-Fork experience to life for local families through a series of Family Programs offered this year in June and September. Family Program participants will enjoy a day on the farm full of family-friendly activities including baking homemade bread with butter, a tasting tour of the farm, veggie-based arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, planting seeds, service learning and more. All of our Family Programs take place on Field Day Farm at Oxmoor between 11am and 3pm.

Washington Youth Garden SPROUT (Science Program Reaching OUT) Program Washington DC
Science Program Reaching Out (SPROUT) is the Washington Youth Garden's outreach program that provides an opportunity for children and educators from across the Washington metro region to join us for an interactive and educational experience in our one-acre organic demonstration garden at the U.S. National Arboretum. We are available to host groups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning in April and continuing throughout the summer and fall months. This is a free program, but groups need to arrange their own transportation. More information and a reservation form can be found on the website.
